2 more videos and a couple of pics

9/21/09 - First time eating "solids". Guess what? She didn't like it. (4 mos)

9/26/09 - Daddy loves his baby girl soooo much. And baby girl loves her daddy soooo much too! (4 mos)

Check out my hair-do! Grandma Lo made some pretty bows to put in my long luxurious locks.
This is called the "waterspout"
Momma likes to give me funny hairstyles in the bath.

I like to chew on my toes :)

Open mouth, insert foot.

That's right folks! Adelyn has put her foot in her mouth (literally).

"Hey Momma, watch this!"
"Are you watchin'?"
"Mmmm, delicious"
"Yummm yummm"
"Aren't you proud of me??"

Yesterday I bought a few cool-weather things for Adelyn since fall has officially arrived. The past few days here in Cypress have been perfect , weather-wise. 70's, breezy, and very low humidity. We're finally starting to feel like we're moving out of summer... of course the temp and humidity went back up today, but at least we have seen the glimmer of hope that is autumn. Anyway, I saw this jacket and fell in love with it. Now Addy has a jacket to wear once things get cold enough!

Look! Isn't she cute???
Aww.

I'm a cute little bear cub!

Video

We're trying to consolidate our photo and video libraries, so I figured this was a good time to add some video that I've been neglecting to post.

9/1/09 - Playing a version of "Peek-a-boo" with Daddy. 3 mos, 1 wk

9/10/09 - I'd like to roll over but... 3 mos, 3 wks

Babe

Just a couple of pics!

Adelyn loves her pink musical teddy bear :) She gives it a biiiig hug!

All the single babies

Oh man!

My mom just sent me this and it is just the cutest thing. You've got to watch it.

I guess we'll have to start playing music videos on our tv so Adelyn can perform similarly once she's able to stand up. As Mom said, "No pressure Addy!" :)

4 month checkup!

Adelyn is 4 months old and she is one growing sprout! She weighs 12lbs 4ozs (25th percentile) and she's 24 inches long (45th percentile). Adelyn had to get another round of immunizations today (3 shots and an oral) so that wasn't fun. Unfortunately they were out of one of the shots, so she only got 2 of the shots and the oral... this means we have to go back within the next few days so she can get the last needle. It's not fair to the poor little peanut! She was very upset again (understandably) but she's doing well now. The doc said we can try to give her a little bit of cereal if we want, although she probably won't like it. She's growing up so quickly. TOO quickly! Anyway, we bought a little box of rice cereal so we'll probably give that a try tonight. I have a feeling that the doc is right and Addy won't like it that much, but that's okay. I like nursing her, it's good bonding time for us :) She is showing a lot of interest when we eat though, she follows our utensils from our plates to our mouths. It's very cute!

Let's see, what else... Adelyn almost rolled from her back to her front last night. She was so close, but her elbow was stuck and she couldn't quite roll over it. She loves when we sing songs to her, especially "The three little fishies". She plays her own version of peek-a-boo when she's on her tummy and you're down at her level: she looks up at you and then buries her head in her arms, hiding her little face. Looks up again, buries her face. Repeat as desired :) Annnnd, she's just precious! End of story! Hehehehe. We love our girl.

Look at what Adelyn did tonight!

My sweet girl, she was laying on her tummy tonight and then, bam!, she arched her back, stuck her heiney up in the air and got up on her knees! I was shocked. She wasn't pushing up with her arms, but she was able to get up and down from her knees several times. I managed to take a picture with my phone so you can check out her newest feat. Guess this is the first step towards crawling... I can't believe it!

Getting up on her knees!
Nova wanted some love and attention too.
Adelyn relaxing in her pack 'n play earlier this afternoon. Pretty in purple :)

Happy Grandparents Day!

Hee hee, Adelyn wants to wish her Grandpa Joe, Grandma Lo, Gram Z and Pops a very Happy Grandparents Day (and a happy great-grandparents day to the great-grandparents)!

I googled "Grandparents Day" and discovered some interesting facts. Apparently the holiday has an official song ("A song for Grandma and Grandpa" by Johnny Prill) and an official flower (forget-me-not). My Grandma Farrell had forget-me-not flowers in her yard, these sweet little blue flowers, and my sisters and I used to pick them all the time. Ah good memories :)

So to all the grandparents in our family, have a wonderful grandparents day!

Last set

After these photos, we're essentially up to date! Besides the videos, that is...

On Thursday we drove up to Bryan for a few hours for Derek's fire department business meeting. We met the newest member of the department, baby Timothy, 2 weeks old. Adelyn's future boyfriend?? ;)

We've got some sleeping children! You can definitely see the difference between a newborn and a 3 1/2 month old.

These pics are just too cute, I couldn't decide which to post. She looks so inquisitive!
Hello, I love you!
Who me?

Trip to Austin and our collection of hummingbirds

We went to Austin for Labor Day weekend (last weekend). Mom and Dad pulled out our old high chair for Adelyn to sit in while we ate dinner. She's still a wee bit small for it, so we stuffed blankets and pillows around her to keep her upright. Fun experience for her :)

We have a ton of hummingbirds flying around our hummingbird feeder right now. They must be getting ready to migrate, so they're fattening up for the long trip. We've counted about 10 at once, and we've even caught 2 eating out of 1 flower a few times. Derek is refilling the feeder once a day, but we may even need to start doing it more than that because they're sucking it dry. They're cute little guys!

She loves Mortimer the Moose

Zivney Grandparents come for a visit.

Gram Z and Pops Zivney came to visit us in Cypress Aug 28-31, 2009 when Adelyn was 3 mos, 2 weeks old. They last saw Addy when she was 4 days old, so needless to say she had changed quite a bit!
